Hearing Aids at Active Ear

Hearing aids have advanced immensely over the years. Today’s hearing aids are beyond digital and are comfortable to wear. Hearing aids used to be big and bulky in size, but now they are incredibly small and come in a range of discreet colors to match your hair or skin tone. The technology inside of hearing aids has changed as well. Hearing aids can pick up sound from different parts of a room and differentiate between noises, amplifying some and decreasing others. They can also filter out background noise. Hearing aids automatically process sounds in your environment for you, so you don’t have to strain to hear.

Many of today’s hearing aids are digital or considered to be “smart.” Many hearing aids have incredible features such as Bluetooth connectivity, rechargeability, and some even use artificial intelligence! No matter what you need out of a hearing aid, we can help you find the perfect fit for your unique needs. At Active Ear, we want to help as many people as possible experience an improved quality of life through better hearing. The hearing aids we carry can help you hear all of the sounds you have been missing and regain the confidence to enjoy life. We have hearing aids from the leading manufacturers, including EarQ, Oticon, Starkey, and Widex.

How to Choose the Right Hearing Aid

There are many options of hearing aids available on the market today, and without the right professional to help you, it may seem overwhelming to know which one to choose. At Active Ear, we are experts in hearing aid technology, and we know how to choose the right hearing aids for each individual’s hearing needs and lifestyle. When recommending hearing aids there are three factors we consider: your degree of hearing loss, your lifestyle, and your budget.

The degree of hearing loss can range from mild to severe. Depending on your degree of hearing loss we have different levels of hearing aid technology that are better suited for some degrees than others. If you have a severe hearing loss, then you are going to need a higher level of hearing aid technology that can filter background noise and provide your brain with the right sounds. During your first appointment we will test your hearing and discover what degree of hearing loss you have.

The second factor we consider is your personal lifestyle. If you live an active and busy lifestyle, you like to talk on the phone a lot, you attend meetings for work, or you enjoy socializing in crowded restaurants, then you are going to need a more advanced hearing aid. In comparison, if you live a more sedentary lifestyle, you enjoy one-on-one interactions, you stay home, and spend most of your time in quiet environments then you won’t need as advanced of a hearing aid. We will have a conversation with you to discover what your hearing needs are so we can recommend a hearing aid that will match your lifestyle.

The final factor we consider is your budget. We understand that hearing aids are an investment, that’s why we will never pressure you to buy a device that you don’t need. We will be honest with you throughout the entire process and help you find a hearing aid that will allow you to hear all the sounds you love in the environments you spend the most time in. We will only recommend hearing aids that are within your budget and are comfortable for you.
